I have another trip to Bristol planned, and as usual, my indecision is pestering me. I will be able to claim for travel expenses, and this means I can make a profit if I drive (I can squeeze 60mpg out of my car easily enough, and maintenance costs are quite small), but driving prevents me from being able to read. Train is more relaxing (when it works), but it's also slower.

The interview confirmation came by mail. How unexpected. From a software company, that's about as common as carrier pigeon.

Still no response from Criterion.

Rotters.

I will have to see some of the people I missed last time I was in Bristol. Who will join me for dinner?

I predict that you will get either both jobs or none. The good thing is that if you get one, you can phone the other and say "I need an answer from you, because I've had another offer".

The London Bus theory of job offers. It's certainly not rare. It's happened to me once, and to my mum a few times. Always nice to feel wanted.

At Computer Artworks, it was more of a case of "I have an offer already, and if you don't hurry up with this third interview this whole deal will have been a waste of time".

William Latham wasn't always all that good at getting round to things...

Yeah... I thought I had managed to only get one job at a time when I started working for SN. Then, a short while after starting, I got a call from the games company I used to work for asking me to come back. I said "no" :p
