Saturday

Went to Bristol.

Arrived at Royal Marriot Hotel. Don;t normally go for anywhere quite so posh, but the hotel I usually stay at only had double rooms. If I'm going to be paying for a double I might as well choose a single in a more expensive hotel. So I did.

Saw animation exhibition at @Bristol. It was very good. Lots of props and things. Highly cute and adorable. Also bought a labcoat and pondered a loud Hawiian shirt for Serenity con, but desicded against it.

Then it was [livejournal.com profile] the_smu_fairy's party. I got dressed up in my fangs, yellow contacts, and newly made cloak. People did seem to aprpeciate it. Especially rattieAlly. Drank not an awful lot. Some plum wine I brought with me and that was it. I even shared a fair portion of that. Fun party.

Sunday

Went to House of Goth for tea. Drove to parents's in the long winded tortuous route because I find the mpotorways dull to drive along. I can whizz along the backroads and take a hell of a lot longer actually. But it's more enjoyable. Arrived for a feast preared by my father for my brothers birthday. I was given a huuuge amount of steak. Then offered more. Seems my dad is the only person in the entire world who thinks I don't eat enough.

Monday

Presented a birthday present of a Joystick to my brother. Became exasperated that my dad still hasn't installed the driver for his other printer. These old people are tiring. They got a free colour inkjet printer with their laser printer which they bought about 4 years ago. I bought them a parallel port switch box. They have since bought a new computer and the colour printer and switch box hadn't even been taken out of the box. I had tried settng it up but the printer had no Windows XP drivers and the Windows ME or NT drivers didn't want to work with XP. I downloaded the drivers and sent them to my parents. Still not installed. They are living in fear of the computer beast. They seem to think they're going to break it somehow.

I've also talked them out of buying a combination Video recorder and DVD player. I never have trusted that sort of thing.

Drove home. Relaxed. Sorted stuff out. Went off to Woking later for [livejournal.com profile] ingaborg and [livejournal.com profile] aperrot's party. Forgot my camera. Didn't really matter to much since there were many other cameras kicking about. Wore the same costume. Call me unoriginal... Well, I'd invested time and effort into it, so had to make the most of it. Another fun party.

I think it is a much better moniker....

Anyone else find the similarities with the New Smu scary?
