Silks was cancelled this week. But Manchester has a lot of aerials classes. In fact, checking up on this, there seem to be half a dozen or so! Went to Cloud Aerial and did rope instead because that's a beginner class I'm familiar with.

It's a lot more professional than Circus House. It is a business after all whereas Circus house is a community organisation. So we have a receptionist, and a cafe/waiting area. Several classes are taught at once and we all do the warmup at the same time. The warm up was prety damn brutal. The torture was soon over and we started with the lesson.

It ws mostly a refresher course for me. I did ropes ages ago. Most of the skills, are transferrable from silks so i wasn't even close to starting from the beginning.

One thing I was reminded about - climbing rope is a lot easier than silks. Silks stretch! Half the energy is spent making up the distance lost by the silks springing back.

Still find high straddle tires me out but at least I can do it once or twice. Still can't do front balance. I just don't understand how it works. I can do catchers though. And that was the right thing to do to get into the position we wanted.

Wondering if I want to do more of this. I just wish I had more free evenings.
