Headed towards Oxford Street. Felt the need for some shameless consumerism.

So, first stop - The Disney Store on Oxford Street. I saw many plushy dwarfs, except they were missing Grumpy. Naturally I complained bitterly about that one. Escaped without making a purchase.

Next stop - Lego Store. Bit of a queue for this one [personal profile] flickums  was tempted with Lego Disney tat, but resisted. I was tempted by minifigs, although series 22 has some pretty weird ones. Ended up with a weird alien thing. Not sure how I feel about that.

I wanted to go see the British Transport Museum. Flick had zero interest in that but was excited by the prospect of returning to hotel and flumping so we went our separate ways. BTM was pretty interesting. Some nice exhibits mostly of early tube stock - one of the early Metropolitan steam locomotives. Steam was actually in operation on the Metropolitan Line for a surprisingly long time. Covid rules have been loosened so it's possible to go into some of the vehicles now. One was a double decker tram. Stairs were really quite steep. There was a nice display of tube maps throughout history. Beck's design really was revolutionary.

Finished there and headed back to hotel. Then set off to see a play. We saw Six. Again. I wanted to see it with a British cast because I never really felt Americans quite got it. We had a box, so we could look down on the hoi poloi in the stalls! Unfortunately we didn't have it to ourselves because there are three seats, and someone booked the third. Not quite sure what sort of a person does that.

It's a really good show though. The six wives of Henry VIII performed as a pop concert. It's a really strange premise but it works well and the songs are good. Plus the audience really got into it. Lots of fun.
