Off to Japan in just a few days.

Scary.

Will really need to check to see if my palm charger will work with a 100V supply.

I have a terrible fear that I'm going to forget something essential.

And why do I have no icon representing Japan?

EDIT: I do now!

Did you remember to make some "business card" type things to let people you meet know your email address/LJ name?

Speaking of business cards, I know that if you get given one, you should make a point of reading it before putting it away. It's the height of rudeness to not read it :)

Okay. I'll remember that. I don't think I'll be receiving many though. It's not exactly a business event.

You may be surprised!

If offered a business card, it will be presented to you with both hands, and you should receive it with both hands, read both sides, and then either put it away safely if you are standing up, or leave it on the table in front of you if you are sitting at a table so you can read it to remind yourself of the other person's name. At least that's the business etiquette!

Logged.

Any idea where can I get business cards printed? Churchill Square doesn't have a machine in the concourse

Hmm.. as noted the other day, I think amazon.co.uk have an offer to some sibling company's business cards, but no idea how long they'd take.

You have a printer at home/work - other simple way is just to create something in a Word doc layout, print (preferably in colour), use guillotine/scissors.
Done that a few times for events I didn't want to write down info each time I talked to someone.
That way it can be as personalised as you want, include homedrawn Dalek cartoon pics, etc.

http://www.vistaprint.co.uk/ were the people with the amazon offer.. 250 free cards, they do charge you for P&P and have their branding on the back. You can upgrade them though for various amounts (lose their branding, add custom images, different finish etc)

Alternatively the self printing option can work quite well if you have the time to get a good design together and fiddle with the printing/cutting.

Left it too late for them. Shame really. I even came up with a nice card design.

I'll have to see what the high street offers.

1 pair of clean pants and a credit card.

Everything else can be bought, should the need arise.

True. Well, that, a passport, flight details and hotel details.

Japan makes things a little trickier though. Credit cards aren't quite as ubiquitous there as they are in Europe and the US.

Maybe, but there should be cash points!

Oh, and a toothbrush
