* Not sure whether to go for a Mazda or a Skoda or some cheapy Korean thing.  Went for a Mazda 2.  Hope it's the 1.5 Litre version.

Israel? Natural fibres. Cotton/silk/linen. All the way down to the underclothes. Avoid polyester! Don't forget a swimming costume.

Take 1 pair stout sandals and 1 pair trainers [plus maybe 1 pair smart shoes for evenings out]. Take a jumper/wrap/jacket for evenings [it's basically desert-ish, temperature drops at night]. Don't bother with socks, unless worn with the trainers. All that stuff in the Bible about foot-washing will make sense after a day or two :-)

Don't forget a headscarf/hat ono for holy sites of various kinds.
